I am a local guitar player in the Tampa Bay area. The guitar and music in general has always been an escape for me.
I created this page so I would have a means to post my music on-line and hopefully collaborate with family and
friends on home recording projects. I am still learning to play as well as record, so if you found this page,
keep that in mind when you hear my stuff.
My Influences
My influences are Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Lori Linstruth, Eddie Van Halen, Blues Saraceno, Vinnie Moore, Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson,
Tom Scholz, Vito Bratta, Andy Timmons, Michael Batio, Stu Hamm, Beaver Felton, and last but not least, Doug Marks of Metal Method Guitar lessons,
without whom I would have never learned to play the guitar.
My Rig
My rig consists of the following Electric Guitars: Two Carvin DC127Cs, an Ibanez JS1000BP, an Ernie Ball Petrucci 6, and a Jackson SL1. I use
these amps: a Carvin Legacy VL412 and an ART "Rules Breaker" DST-825. I use the following
Acoustic Guitars: a Taylor 314CE and a Taylor 214. I also use a Carvin LB20 Bass along with a Carvin PB100-15 amp.
I have found that the guitar pickups have just as much or possibly even more of an effect on my overall sound than
the woods and other materials that make up my guitars. Over the years, I have become a big fan of Dimarzio and Seymour
Duncan pickups. From the time I got my first Carvin electric guitar, I have been a big fan of Carvin pickups as well. Personally, I prefer passive
pickups as opposed to active pickups.
Besides the signal processor that is built into the Rules Breaker, I use a Boss GT-8 signal
processor, a set of Boss pedals on a BCB-60 pedal board, a CryBaby Wah, and a ToneWorks Pandora PX4 and PX4D.
For recording, I use a Line6 TonePort UX2 along with CakeWalk Guitar Tracks Pro 3. I use the
Line6 GearBox Software or my Pandora for effects if I am plugged directly into the TonePort. If I mic
my amps, I use a Shure Beta 57A mic.
I usually use D'Addario strings for both my acoustic and electric guitars, although I like Dean Markley Blue Steels very much
also. I prefer to use GHS Boomers on the Bass.
After trying a number of different guitar cables, I finally settled on Monster Guitar Cables. For me it was a good choice because they are well made and come with a lifetime replacement warranty. When not using
a guitar cable, I use a Nady 101 Wireless.
